DIFFERENT TYPES OF CONCENTRATES ARE MADE WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY CREATING DIFFERENT CONSISTENCIES

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in cannabis that can have an impact on both the mind and body when consumed. The most well-known cannabinoid is THC, which can cause euphoria and intoxication. Another cannabinoid, CBD, is non-intoxicating and may have some medical benefits, although further research is necessary to confirm this. Cannabis extracts can differ significantly in their concentrations of THC and CBD, with some containing up to 99% THC and others mostly CBD with minimal THC. Extracts can be in solid or liquid form, and may be smoked, vaporized, or added to dried cannabis flower. Some extracts, such as shatter, wax, honeycomb, and budder, are named based on their consistency or appearance. Tinctures are extracts that are placed under the tongue using a dropper or spray. Dabbing has been the focus of the future and is a newer way of consuming extracts that requires specialized equipment and is not recommended for inexperienced cannabis users. If you’ve tried cannabis before and are considering using extracts, there are seven important things you should know before jumping into the extraction world. Learn the main extraction processes, and even learn how to take a dab and when you might be ready to try it.
Cannabis extracts can cause intense intoxication quickly as they can contain high levels of THC, up to 99% THC, compared to the 10-25% THC typically found in dried cannabis buds. Over-intoxication is a risk, and symptoms include severe anxiety, vomiting, and paranoia.
If vaping, it’s advisable to take one puff and wait five minutes before taking another. For dabbing, start with a small amount, the size of a grain of rice, and wait for at least 10 minutes before taking more. Newcomers to cannabis should avoid high-strength extracts and begin with one or two puffs of a vape with 100 mg/g (10%) or less of THC. If consuming cannabis extracts in capsule form, start with no more than 2.5 mg of THC and wait for at least four hours before taking more. It’s best to consume cannabis extracts with trusted friends or family members who have experience with them. Seek medical attention or contact your local poison center if over-intoxication occurs. When consuming high-strength cannabis extracts, start low, and take it easy.

HASHISH THEN VERSUS HASH NOW

Hashish is made from the resin of cannabis plants. For several thousand years, cannabis plants have been used medicinally and for the fibers that made strong fabric, but records of the use of hashish wouldn’t show up until much later. By about 900 AD, hashish use had spread through Arabia. At that time, the drug was consumed by eating it. Hashish is made of the most resinous parts of the cannabis plant that are compressed, creating a higher concentrate product. The end product is typically in a cake, ball, or cookie-like sheet that users break off and smoke. Currently, most of the world’s hashish comes from Morocco but Afghanistan, Nepal, and India are also source countries.
In countries like India and Nepal, cannabis plant material would be rubbed between two hands, using the friction to strip the resin and form small balls of hash, locally called “charas.” Elsewhere, cannabis plants would be heated for long periods in the sun before being hit against a metal screen, leaving a powdery substance consisting of trichomes and other bioparticles. This powder would then be heated and pressed, forming small blocks of ready-to-go hashish.
This technique has grown over time & users or extractors today would say this techniques closest resembles the famous, solventless cannabis rosin. Extracted naturally!

HISTORY 101: MOVE OVER HASHISH…ICE WATER HASH TECH IS HERE!

Ice hash originated in the 1980s, when California underground cannabis enthusiast Sadhu Sam (aka Skunkman) discovered cannabis flowers placed in cold water resulted in resinous trichomes glands sinking to the bottom of the container. At the same time, plant debris and other small particles floated to the top. He took out an ad in High Times in 1987, offering instructions on making cold water extracts at home. This opened the door for refinement of the original cold water extraction method, and by the 1990s, new techniques for ice water extraction had entered the underground scene.
“Bubbleman” Marcus Richardson was a Canadian cannabis activist who introduced “bubble bags” to a larger audience. Ultimately, he revolutionized bubble hash when he developed the first multi-bag filtration kit in 1999, containing three different-sized bags that easily filtered trichomes using refined ice water extraction methods introduced by Skunkman in the ‘80s. FROM WATER HASH TO BHO

It’s pretty hard for a dyed-in-the-wool stoner to get tired of smoking bud. But sometimes you want to expand your horizons and try something new. That’s where butane extraction comes in. Butane hash oil, also known as BHO, is a form of concentrated marijuana with super-potent THC levels. It’s made via a process called “BHO extraction.” But what is Butane, and how could you use it to make BHO? BHO wax is made by stripping resin from marijuana bud. The bubbling butane in a pyrex dish, once evaporated, leaves holes in the wax making it look like cheese.
BHO extraction is a simple process, but it needs to be said that it can also be very dangerous. The process involves butane, a highly explosive gas. News stories about potheads exploding their homes while making BHO (shatter) unfortunately grew in the early 2000s.
As technology and science evolved, bho became known as the lesser quality to rosin because it was not solventless.

BHO PURGING IN A PYREX DISH CAN RESULT IN A WAX CALLED SHATTER. IT RESEMBLES CHEESE WITH HOLES IN IT WHERE THE BUTANE WAS RELEASING.

PEOPLE MAKING BHO WAX AT HOME HAD A CHANCE OF LOSING THEIR HOME. PURGING BUTANE IN A CLOSE ENVIRONMENT ALLOWED THE GAS TO NOT ESCAPE. ANY SPARK MADE NEAR THE VICINITY WAS A DANGEROUS MOMENT TO GAMBLE WITH.

GOODBYE BHO…HELLO ROSIN!

Phil “Soilgrown” Salazar is a well-known cannabis connoisseur who helped popularize the rosin technique after discovering it by accident while squeezing low-quality non-melt hash to make a full melt dab and realizing that a waxy substance was separated from the hash during the process. Many credit him with bringing the rosin technique to an elevated, pioneering level of exposure in early 2015. A hot trend began when people were in search of a hot plate that would squeeze the thc trichomes off of the nug itself...when in doubt, people turned to the hair straightener. Putting your nugs in a heat resistant bag allowed the extraction of trichomes creating solventless wax.

THE HAIR STRAIGHTENER…MONUMENTAL TECH BEFORE THE NUG PRESS.

In addition to using heat and press, it was the micron filter bag that has played a huge factor in what makes quality rosin on a large scale possible. With the hair straightener tech requiring large amounts of pressure (some using cinder blocks to set on top of the straightener), this caused an entirely new invention to help users extract their rosin with simpler methods. The forever evoloving technology upscaled the hair straighteners and on large scale events, you can now purchase durable, heavy duty rosin presses for your home or your business. The secret behind these new machines is their capability to press over (an actual ton) of weight meaning no cinder blocks at home!
ROSIN-RECAP
Rosin, a cannabis extract, is produced by applying heat and pressure to the herb. This process involves placing the herb in a press with heated pads and compressing it to extract hot oil. The extraction is solventless, meaning no chemicals are used. The technique of creating rosin has its origins in the production of rosin for violin bows, which is where the name comes from.
Making rosin at home is a quick process that only takes a few minutes and doesn't require complex purification or dilution steps for the extracted cannabis oil. Minimal household tools are needed to get started. Unlike other extracts, rosin is full-spectrum, meaning there is no need to remove other compounds during the process. It retains the cannabinoid and terpene profile of the original plant.
Various cannabis materials can be used to make DIY rosin, including flower or nugs, kief, trim, and hash. Using high-quality input materials results in a premium end product. Flowers or nugs are often preferred for their superior quality and flavor. However, other parts of the plant can also be used, although there may be slight differences in product quality. To ensure peace of mind, it is recommended to source your cannabis supplies from the Best Cannabis Dispensary in Missouri.
Once you have rosin, whether homemade or purchased, there are different ways to consume it. The following are the delivery methods for cannabis rosin:
1. Dabbing: Many cannabis users consider dabbing the best method for consuming rosin. It provides an optimal experience by bringing out the terpene content, which contributes to the aroma, flavor, and potency of cannabis. Loading rosin into a dab rig offers a delicious aromatic experience with each hit.
2. Vaping: Vaping is a popular delivery method due to its quick onset time. Using a vape pen specifically designed for concentrates makes the process straightforward. This method allows for convenient consumption on the go.
3. Smoking: Some individuals still prefer the traditional method of smoking cannabis. It involves adding the rosin to pipes, bong bowls, joints, or blunts and then smoking it. If you already use these tools and want to experience immediate effects, this method may be suitable. However, it is important to consider potential lung irritation associated with smoking.
4. Oral Ingestion: Infusing rosin into food or beverages offers a delicious and enjoyable way to consume it. Unlike other cannabis extracts, rosin does not require decarboxylation before adding it to edibles. Oral ingestion provides long-lasting effects, although they may take longer to manifest.
Rosin also possesses medicinal value, providing potential health benefits. Exploring its properties may lead to positive discoveries for improving one's lifestyle. Here are some of the potential health benefits of rosin:
1. Promotes Better Sleep: Rosin can aid individuals with insomnia, helping them fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Unlike sleeping pills and hypnotics, it does not have harmful side effects. By addressing insomnia, rosin can prevent potential long-term consequences such as memory loss, low mood, and poor concentration.
2. Boosts Appetite: Rosin is beneficial for individuals with poor appetite, including those undergoing cancer treatment. It can stimulate appetite and help maintain a healthy weight. Other conditions that may benefit from rosin include thyroid conditions, hepatitis, anorexia nervosa, and HIV/AIDS.
3. Reduces Anxiety: Many people find relief from anxiety by using cannabis rosin. It restores normal endocannabinoid function in the brain, stabilizing mood and relieving depression. Rosin is highly potent and provides quick and positive results for anxious individuals.
4. Relieves Pain: Rosin can be effective in alleviating painful nerve disorders such as migraines. Its high cannabin

READY TO SMOKE HASH?

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW…

1) YOU’LL NEED A REASON TO BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY OF SMOKING CANNABIS EXTRACTS.
Having a high tolerance, not being able to get your specific needs from flower, & instances like having a high pain tolerance are all great reasons to start smoking cannabis extracts.
2) YOU’LL NEED CANNABIS EQUIPMENT!
Nothing fancy, a Sea Horse, a Nectar Collector, or your homies’ rig will do just fine! Basic mechanics call for a glass piece and a nail, something you can heat up (300 degrees F) like a quartz nail or titanium nails for Nectar Collectors. You’ll also need a handheld butane torch to prep your nail for extreme heat.
3) YOU’LL NEED SOME WAX!
Start with something cheap just in case you find it’s not for you. Scoop out your desired wax (start small), heat up your nail with your torch, let it cool down (stay away from red nails), and either drag your Nectar Collector or Sea Horse through the wax allowing the heated nail to touch it ightly OR using your dabber tool, scoop a small size and place on the walls of your heated nail and inhale!
